Many of our procedures and protocols have changed as we implemented new policies outlined by the State of Florida, CDC, and massage organizations.
Keep in mind that reopening does not mean that COVID-19 has gone away, or that resuming normal activities is 100% safe. There is no way to completely social distance while providing our spa services.
Therapists and Clients will be required to wear masks at all times while inside Citrine and for the entire duration of service. As a client you do not have to wear a medical grade mask, a cloth mask will be fine. If you do not have a mask, we can supply you with a mask for $3.00. If you are concerned about laying face down while wearing a mask, we can adjust your session to a face-up or side-lying position. *Anyone who arrives for an appointment but refuses to comply with these requirements will have their appointment canceled.
Please STAY IN YOUR CAR and call us at (850) 668-2257 to let us know you are here. Your therapist will meet you outside the front door. You may not have anyone accompany you inside Citrine for your appointment. Your therapist will conduct a Check-In Screening Questionnaire/Protocol, take your temperature, and sanitize your hands before entering the building.
Before and after each service, our Citrine staff will wipe and disinfect all surfaces touched by therapists and clients, including door handles, bathrooms, front door, sink handles, toilet handles, water dispenser. This is in addition to regular cleaning of all the surfaces in the treatment rooms. We have added air purifiers and filters to help with ventilation in treatment rooms, and replaced all fabric furniture with non-porous furniture. Our regular sheets will be on the massage tables, and top blankets are available upon request.
We must continue to take extra precautions with COVID-19. You must reschedule your spa service if you:
*Have any sickness symptoms within the last 14 days
*Been in contact with any sick person within the last 14 days
*Traveled in the last 14 days
Cancellation Policy Change: If you schedule an appointment and become ill or exposed, you can cancel anytime without consequence.
As most of you know, we have not seen clients since March 16th. Our bodies will need some time to get back to full treatment capacity. So, for an initial period, our treatments will only be available in 30 minute sessions. This will also help to limit exposure between therapists and clients.
*We hope that this 30 minute limit will only last a few weeks.
Testing Our Staff for COVID-19: Right now, staff have been tested and are awaiting clear results. We plan to continue to get tested on a regular basis. We encourage everyone in our community to get tested. It is free, easy, and located at Braggs Stadium on FAMU's campus.
Risks Related to COVID-19 and Massage Therapy: There are inherent risks of giving and receiving massage therapy during this pandemic, and we now better understand more of the risks. We think it is important to include that there is mounting evidence that shows blood clotting as a symptom of COVID-19 and can present even when no other symptoms have. This is particularly relevant as it relates to massage therapy. Patients with COVID-19 are presenting with Deep Vein Thrombosis who otherwise would not. The risk of stroke and pulmonary embolism is much higher. Even if you have no symptoms at all you can still be presenting with blood clots which massage therapy could possibly dislodge, resulting in health complications or death. We want you to be informed and know what the potential risks are so you can proceed with caution.
We are truly excited to begin taking care of you all again and to bring you the same love and relaxation that we have in the past. We are sure that it is as therapeutic for us as it is for you. However, for as excited as we all are to catch up with each other, we are asking clients to focus more on quiet relaxation instead of speaking during services. This will help mitigate the viral load in the air.
We look forward to taking care of you again
